Zerona & CVAC
The Zerona Lipo Laser is a low level cold laser, which basically means that it is non-invasive. The laser penetrates the skin to the subcutaneous fat, which is the fat just below the skin. This is the primary area of concern with most individuals and the area where Zerona focuses on. When the laser hits the subcutaneous fat it makes the outer membrane of the fat cell very porous and it emulsifies the fat within the cell. With a porous membrane the fat within the cell leaks out, which causes the cell to shrink. From that point the fat is pushed into the lymphatic system, which dumps into the digestive system where we will excrete the fat when we have bowel movements. So in essence, it’s the lymphatic system that is responsible for carrying the emulsified fat out of the interstitial space and carrying it to the digestive system. If your lymphatic system is not working properly then the emulsified fat can re-enter the fat cell.
It is therefore very important that to get the best results with the Zerona protocol, you optimize your body’s process of detoxification. Common exercises that are recommended for patients undergoing treatment can range from walking to even jumping on a trampoline. Anything that helps get the lymphatic system moving and keeps the digestive system pumping.
Pneumatic compression devices have been used for decades to help assist the lymphatic system. Often used for conditions such as lymphodema, they generally consist of an inflatable garment for the arm or leg and an electrical pneumatic pump that fills the garment with compressed air. The garment is intermittently inflated and deflated with cycle times and pressures that vary between devices. The CVAC process is one of the only existing technologies that provide a form of total body vasopneumatic compression. After a CVAC session, it is very common for an individual to have to go to the bathroom at least three or four times in a given hour. This is actually very good for the body’s detoxification process! The cyclic pumping that the CVAC does to the body is a key component to its benefits, and this is very complementary to the Zerona fat removal process.
